iCP Workshops and Training Courses

Since the first stable release of iCP in 2014, Amphos 21 has carried out a series of iCP workshops and courses in order to train scientists and consultants interested in reactive transport modelling.

First iCP Workshop

3-6th June 2014, Barcelona

This event was held shortly after the release of iCP v1.0 and constituted the first workshop of the iMaGE platform. The iCP team was overwhelmed by the positive response to the first iCP Workshop and the official presentation of iCP: we had the pleasure to share experiences with 26 participants from many different countries and various universities and industries. Our special thanks to the enthusiastic participants, teachers, and iMaGe partners that made the workshop possible.

Second iCP Workshop

20-22nd October 2014, Zurich

The second iCP workshop, held in Zürich, was co-organized by Amphos 21 Consulting and COMSOL Multiphysics Switzerland. We had the pleasure receive 17 participants from Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Spain.

Third iCP Workshop

10th February 2015, Houston

Amphos 21 and COMSOL Multiphysics hosted a workshop on "Simulating Multiphase Flow and Geochemical Processes" at the University of Phoenix in Houston. Attendees included scientists and engineers from major oil & gas companies and oil & gas related consultancy firms, universities and researchers.

Fourth iCP Workshop

21-23rd October 2015, Davis, CA

The fourth iCP workshop was hosted by Professor Tim Ginn’s group in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California in Davis. The training course was in a customized format and the attendees were M.Sc. and Ph.D. students from Dr. Tim Ginn’s lab. The presentations were also broadcast online to attendees at the Georgia Institute of Technology and Arizona State University.

Fifth iCP Workshop

16-18th May 2016, Waterloo (Canada)

The fifth iCP workshop took place in Waterloo, Canada. Attendees of the course were M.Sc. and Ph.D. students from Professor Philippe Van Cappellen’s research lab. Dr. Stefano Normani from the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department of the University of Waterloo attended the course as well. The attendees were invited for a BBQ at Professor Philippe Van Cappellen’s place. We would like to thank him and his family for their hospitality.

Sixth iCP Workshop

21-22nd February 2017, Utrecht

The sixth iCP workshop consisted on a two-day workshop at the Earth Sciences Department of Utrecht University. The workshop was organized by Dr. Mariëtte Wolthers of the geochemistry department and the participants of the course were Dr. Amir Raoof and PhD candidates Priyanka Agrawal and Janou Koskamp. The workshop consisted in getting a better knowledge of iCP and implementing specific problems of interest of the participants.

Seventh iCP Workshop

17-21st, July 2021, Daejeon, Korea

The seventh iCP workshop was held at the office of the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) in Daejeon, South Korea. This in-house training course was divided in a 3-day course of iCP Basics plus a 2-day iCP Customized training course. In the latter, we discussed the best implementation in iCP of specific problems of interest for KAERI.

iCP Online Training Course

10-12th Online Training Course, (Online)

Amphos 21 announced the first iCP Online Training course together with the release of iCP 1.6. In this course, attendees learnt the basic principles of iCP though lectures and Hands-on examples and were introduced to advanced topics through short presentations of Amphos 21 consultants on real cases. In total, 9 attendees from France, Germany, England, Sweden, Finland and Australia joined us online to learn about iCP. Many thanks to all for participating!
